Custom 3D Printing at MiniHalla

Your Model. Our Printers. Your Next Adventure.

Have you found a 3D model you'd love to bring to life? Perhaps you've got a favourite Dungeons & Dragons character, a monster for your next campaign, a piece of tabletop terrain or another project waiting to be printed.

At MiniHalla, our custom 3D printing service helps you turn suitable 3D model files into physical prints.

You supply the model file, tell us what you're looking to achieve, and we'll review the requirements to establish whether we can print it and provide a quote.

Already have an STL file? Let's explore what we can print for you.

What Can We Print?

Our printing equipment uses two different technologies, each suited to different kinds of projects.

Resin Printing — For Detailed Miniatures

Resin printing is particularly well suited to intricate models and smaller details.

It can be a great choice for projects such as:

  • Dungeons & Dragons player characters and NPCs.
  • Monsters, dragons and fantasy creatures.
  • Detailed tabletop miniatures.
  • Small decorative models and display pieces.
  • Other suitable models that benefit from fine surface detail.

The best results depend on the model design, its size, the resin selected and the requirements of the print.

FDM Printing — For Terrain and Larger Projects

FDM printing uses filament to build a model layer by layer. It can be a practical option for larger objects and many tabletop accessories.

Potential projects include:

  • Buildings and fantasy terrain.
  • Dungeon walls and scenery.
  • Larger gaming accessories.
  • Suitable props and decorative pieces.
  • Other models that suit filament printing.

FDM prints can show visible layer lines, and the final finish depends on the design, material and print settings.

How Does Custom Printing Work?

1. Find Your 3D Model

You'll need a suitable 3D model file, such as an STL. Other file formats may be considered depending on the project.

Make sure you have the rights or appropriate licence to have the model printed commercially. A file being available to download does not automatically mean it can be used for commercial printing.

2. Tell Us About Your Project

Let us know what you want printed, approximately how large it should be, how many copies you need and whether you have any particular requirements.

If you aren't sure which printing method is best, tell us what the model is for and we can assess the options.

3. We Review the File

We'll consider whether the file is suitable for our equipment and whether its dimensions, level of detail and design are practical to print.

Some models may need adjustments, supports or other preparation. We will discuss any important limitations before proceeding.

4. Receive a Quote

Once we've reviewed the requirements, we'll confirm whether we can undertake the job and provide a quote based on the work involved.

We won't begin a custom job until the details and price have been agreed.

5. Printing and Fulfilment

Once the order is agreed, we'll arrange the printing and any finishing included in your quote.

The finished result depends on the original model, material, print settings and agreed finishing requirements. We'll clarify what is included before the job proceeds.

What Should I Include in My Enquiry?

To help us assess your project, please provide as much of the following information as you can:

  • Model file: Your STL or another agreed file format.
  • Description: What the model represents and what you intend to use it for.
  • Size: Your preferred height or overall dimensions.
  • Quantity: How many copies you need.
  • Printing preference: Resin, FDM or advice on which to choose.
  • Finishing requirements: Whether you want a basic print or would like to discuss additional finishing.
  • Deadline: If you have a particular date in mind, let us know so we can assess feasibility.

Please do not send confidential information or files you do not have permission to share.

A Few Things to Know

Custom printing is different from choosing an existing product from our shop. Each project needs to be assessed individually.

  • Not every model can be printed successfully in every material or size.
  • Very thin or delicate details may be fragile.
  • Some models may need supports, splitting into parts or other preparation.
  • Print resolution, surface finish and material properties vary between technologies.
  • Custom pricing depends on the requirements of the individual job.
  • A model's licence and usage restrictions must permit the proposed commercial printing.

We'll discuss relevant limitations and requirements with you before confirming a custom order.
