How I Clean, Cure, Prime, and Ship Your MiniHalla Miniatures

How I Care, Clean, and Prepare Your MiniHalla Miniatures Before Posting

When you order a miniature from MiniHalla, I want it to arrive in the best possible condition. Clean, well-prepared, and ready for painting or gameplay. In this blog, I’ll walk you through the exact process I use when printing, cleaning, priming, and packaging your models. Transparency matters, and I want you to know the care that goes into every single order.

1. Materials & Equipment Used

At MiniHalla, quality starts with the materials and machines behind every print.

Resin Prints

I use Sunlu Standard or Elegoo Standard resin.
Both of these resins provide excellent detail, durability, and smooth finishes perfect for tabletop miniatures.

Filament Prints

My plastic miniatures are printed using Sunlu PLA+ 2.0 or Sunlu Fast Print PLA.
These materials are strong, reliable, and great for larger models and\or terrain pieces.

Colour May Vary:
Both resin and filament come in various colours depending on the batch. If you prefer a consistent base, undercoating is available on all prints at checkout.

Controlled Environment

All miniatures are printed in a temperature controlled room, which reduces warping and ensures higher quality.
The printers used are:

  • Elegoo Saturn Ultra 12K (for high-detail resin prints)

  • Bambulabs P1P (for fast, clean filament prints)

2. Cleaning & Curing Process

Resin Miniatures

Resin minis need careful post-processing, and here’s how I handle each one:

  • Initial Clean: Washed thoroughly in 99% Isopropyl Alcohol to remove excess resin.

  • Hot Water Bath: Rinsed in hot (but not boiling) water to soften and release remaining residue.

  • Final Clean: Given a final alcohol rinse for complete clarity.

  • Curing: Fully cured to harden the resin and prepare it for painting.

Filament Miniatures

Filament prints require no post-processing and are ready straight off the printer, though I always check for print quality before packing.

3. Optional: Priming Your Miniatures

If you select priming at checkout, I use AutoTek Primer for a smooth, even base coat.

To ensure the best finish:

  • The primer cans are warmed gently before use, which improves flow and prevents spitting.

  • Primed miniatures are left to fully dry before packaging to avoid tackiness or rubbing during transit.

4. How Your Order Is Shipped

I handle all postage through Shopify, which helps streamline the process.
Most orders are shipped with Yodel Store to Door, chosen because:

  • it keeps delivery costs low, and

  • there’s a Yodel drop-off point at the end of my road, meaning your order is dispatched quickly and conveniently.

5. What to Expect When Your Miniatures Arrive

A few things to keep in mind when opening your order:

Resin Prints

  • Supports: I remove as many supports as possible, but occasionally some may remain to protect fragile areas during shipping.

  • Water in Hollow Prints: You may notice a small amount of water inside hollow models. This is simply leftover cleaning water and will evaporate naturally.

Filament Prints

  • Layer Lines: PLA prints may show faint layer lines. For a perfectly smooth finish, lightly sand with fine-grit sandpaper and apply filler primer before painting.

Final Thoughts

Every miniature from MiniHalla goes through a careful process to ensure it arrives clean, safe, and ready for your next adventure. Whether you’re a hobby painter, a tabletop gamer, or a collector.
